On Tuesday June 28th 2022 at 12:49pm MFD personnel were dispatched to the report of a brush fire in the Piihana Road area in Wailuku.

Crews arrived to find an area of brush burning, spread by strong trade winds. Crews on the ground, supported by Air 1 making water drops in less accessible areas were able to contain the fire at a half acre.

The cause of the fire was undetermined.  No injuries or damages were reported.

Engine 1 (Wailuku), Engine 10 and Tanker 10 (Kahului) and Air 1 all responded to this incident.
