Both the University of Hawai’i men’s and women’s tennis teams have entered the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings for the first time in 2026. The announcement was made on Thursday from Tempe, Arizona.

The Rainbow Warriors men’s team recently completed a road trip with a 2-1 record, including consecutive 4-0 victories over UC Riverside and Northern Arizona. This marks their first back-to-back sweeps since 2023. The team now holds a 4-4 overall record. Their next matches include an away game at Pacific in Stockton, California, followed by participation in the Golden State Invitational against Saint Mary’s (CA), Sacramento State, and Nevada. The last appearance for the men’s team in the ITA rankings was on April 22, 2022, when they were ranked No. 72.

The Rainbow Wahine women’s team currently has a 3-4 record after playing three matches on the road last week in San Diego. Their most recent win came during their Big West opener at UC San Diego, where they overcame a 1-3 deficit to secure a 4-3 victory by winning their final three singles matches. The Rainbow Wahine will return home to face Long Beach State on Saturday, February 28th for their Big West home opener. The team’s previous entry into the ITA rankings was at No. 70 on March 25, 2025.

It is notable that both teams are ranked simultaneously for the first time since March 24, 2022.
