The University of Hawai’i men’s basketball team will face UTEP this Saturday at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. The event is being promoted as a family-friendly occasion with several activities planned to encourage community participation.
Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring toys or stuffed animals for donation as part of the Toys for Tots Drive and Teddy Bear Toss. According to the university, all stuffed animals collected during the third annual Teddy Bear Toss will be donated to Toys for Tots.
A special ticket package called “4 Da ‘Ohana Pack” is available for $79. It includes four upper-level baseline tickets and $50 in concession vouchers. The offer is only available online and must be purchased at least two hours before tip-off. Promo tickets are non-transferable and not eligible for resale, and accounts that leave a single seat may have their seats consolidated.
Raising Cane’s, which is sponsoring the game, will distribute rally towels to the first 300 fans entering the arena. Additionally, one attendee will receive a $50 Raising Cane’s prize pack.
Fans can meet members of the UH football team during a pre-game autograph session inside the arena concourse. Participation requires a ticket to the basketball game, and up to 20 football players are expected at the session.
At halftime, all members of the UH football team—including head coach Timmy Chang—will be recognized for their season achievements.
Children have an opportunity to take part in Raising Cane’s Keiki Runout Tunnel experience before the game by accessing areas near the players’ locker room, joining in a team photo on court, and helping form a tunnel for player introductions.
H-Club Members at Starter Level or above can receive an H-Club microfiber beach towel across Gate A from 6:00–7:00 p.m., with one towel per eligible account.
A special appearance by the Grinch is also scheduled as part of Saturday’s festivities.
