On Wednesday, October 19, 2022, the MMEU (Mobile Medical Education Unit) was at the Lahaina Baptist Church offering Maui’s houseless community mental health services, food stamps, non-critical wound care, clothing, and much more.
Mahalo to Community Partners:
SNAP “Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program”: provided 24 clients with financial aid and food stamps.
Project Vision and Dr. Ricalde-Garcia: provided nine clients with various services such as eye care, COVID testing, COVID booster, financial paperwork, and medical non-critical wound care.
Mental Health Kokua: provided five clients with services regarding mental health, insurance, therapy, substance abuse treatment, and food stamps.
Department of Education linked: three clients with child education support services.
Maui Aids Foundation: provided 25 clients with medical consultations.
Maui Rescue Mission: provided 102 clients with shower and laundry facilities.
Maui Humane Society: provided 10 clients with tax updates, collars/leashes/harnesses, and food for their animals.
The MMEU will be providing services in Lahaina at Lahaina Baptist Church on Wednesdays during the month of October between 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
