Maui County Fire Department – MFD Crews Continue to Work on a Fire in the Area of the Kauaula Valley in West Maui

MFD crews continue to work on a fire in the area of the Kauaula Valley in West Maui.  The fire is estimated at 150 acres, with 20% containment.  Access to the area is difficult due to the steep and rugged terrain.  At this time there are no reports of any structures being involved.  Crews will remain on scene and continue to improve containment.  This incident is ongoing.

Engine 3, Ladder 3, Tanker 3 (Lahaina), Engine 11 (Napili), Air 1, Air 2, Air 3 helicopters and a Battalion Chief are all currently on scene.
