Maui County Fire Department – Maui Fire Crews and Maui Ocean Safety Personnel Have Been Busy With Multiple Serious Injury Incidents in the Ocean

0Comments

Maui Fire crews and Maui Ocean Safety personnel have been busy with multiple serious injury incidents in the ocean.  The swell currently affecting south and southwest facing shores is expected to continue to produce dangerous surf along the shorelines of Makena, Wailea, Kihei, Maalaea, Ukumehame, Olowalu, Lahaina and Kaanapali.  The public is urged to use extreme caution in and around the ocean over the next several days.

Never turn your back on the ocean.

Never swim and surf alone.

Be alert for waves that may run up further on the beach than expected.

If in doubt, don’t go out.
