University of Hawai’i beach volleyball players Julia Lawrenz and Izadora Stedile were named the Big West Pairs Team of the Week on Mar. 10 following their performance in the Heineken Queen’s Cup.

This recognition marks the first career honor for both Lawrenz and Stedile, as well as the first time a University of Hawai’i pair has received this award during the current season. Their achievement highlights their strong contribution to their team’s recent success.

The Brazilian duo posted a perfect 6-0 record over three days at the Heineken Queen’s Cup, playing all matches at the top spot in the lineup. Their efforts helped secure a tournament championship for Hawai’i, which finished with a 5-1 team record over the weekend. Lawrenz and Stedile won four matches that went to three sets, with an average margin of victory in deciding sets exceeding five points. They also recorded two straight-set wins, including a 21-17, 21-14 victory over Emma Eden and Michaela Cyrani of Pepperdine that clinched the tournament title for their team. The pair now holds a team-best overall record of 8-2 this season.

Looking ahead, the BeachBows will begin their first road trip of the season by competing in four matches at the East Meets West Invitational on March 13-14 in Manhattan Beach, California.

Their recent recognition may provide momentum as they continue into upcoming competitions.
