The University of Hawaiʻi women’s tennis team will play its last home matches of the season against UC Riverside on April 9 and UC Davis on April 11, according to an announcement on Apr. 7. Both matches are set to take place at the UH Tennis Complex in Honolulu.
These final home games mark a significant moment for the Rainbow Wahine as they prepare to honor seniors Allaire Berl, Isabella Pampulov, and Sophie Rachor following Saturday’s match against UC Davis. The event offers an opportunity for fans and teammates alike to recognize the contributions of these student-athletes during their collegiate careers.
Hawaiʻi currently holds a record of 5-7 overall and 2-3 in Big West Conference play. The team is aiming to end a three-match losing streak that includes close losses to UC Irvine (4-3) and Cal Poly (4-3), as well as a recent sweep by nationally ranked UC Santa Barbara (7-0). This marks their longest losing streak since 2023.
Junior Hannah Galindo leads Hawaiʻi in singles with a strong season record of nine wins and three losses, including four victories in conference play. Sophomore Makeilah Nepomuceno has rebounded from an early slump this season, posting five straight singles wins before dropping her most recent match at UCSB. In doubles action, Grete Gull and Sophie Rachor have been successful as the top pair for Hawaiʻi, boasting seven wins overall with five consecutive victories in conference competition.
The Rainbow Wahine hold dominant historical records over both upcoming opponents: leading the series against UC Riverside 18-1 after winning both meetings last year, while holding a narrower edge over UC Davis at 13-6 despite falling narrowly in their previous matchup.
