Hawaiʻi women’s tennis begins three-match road trip in San Diego

The University of Hawai’i women’s tennis team is set to travel to San Diego for its first road trip of the 2026 season, where it will play three dual matches. The Rainbow Wahine, holding a 2-2 record, will start their series against San Diego (3-3) on Thursday, February 12 at the Hogan Tennis Center. Following this match, they will face UC San Diego (4-4) in their Big West Conference opener on Saturday, February 14 at Northview Tennis Courts. The trip concludes with a match against San Diego State (3-1) on Monday, February 16 at the Aztec Tennis Center.

In their upcoming contest against San Diego, the Rainbow Wahine trail in the overall series with five wins to San Diego’s eighteen. Last season, Hawai’i lost to San Diego 4-1 on February 21, 2025. San Diego has won the last seven meetings between the teams.

Against UC San Diego, Hawai’i leads the all-time series 7-0 and secured a win in their most recent encounter last season on March 1, 2025 in Honolulu by a score of 5-2.

San Diego State holds a lead over Hawai’i in their series history with nineteen wins to five. In their previous meeting last season on February 23, 2025, San Diego State defeated Hawai’i 4-2.

Last week, Hawai’i lost to Utah by a score of 5-2. Their scheduled Big West opener against Cal State Fullerton was postponed due to heavy rain and strong winds; that match will be rescheduled later this season in Fullerton.

Junior Hannah Galindo currently leads the team with an undefeated singles record of four wins and no losses—two victories each at No. 5 and No. 6 positions. Most recently, she beat Utah’s Hayley Roberts in straight sets at No. 5.

Senior Allaire Berl has posted a singles record of three wins and one loss so far this year and has won her last two matches consecutively. Against Utah, Berl was the only player from Hawai’i to secure victories in both singles and doubles competition. She defeated Dylan Lolofie in singles and teamed up with Emma Forgac for a doubles win over Lolofie and Roberts.

Freshman Grete Gull has played as Hawai’i’s top singles competitor in all four dual matches this year and holds an even record of two wins and two losses; both victories came against Sacramento State.

Hawai’i baseball loses series finale to UC Davis 3-1

The Hawai’i baseball team lost its final game against UC Davis by a score of 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. Despite taking an early lead, Hawai’i could not overcome middle-inning runs by UC Davis. The Rainbow Warriors will finish their regular season at home against CSUN.

Hawai’i men’s volleyball to face UC Irvine in NCAA Championship match

The University of Hawai’i men’s volleyball team is set to compete against UC Irvine for its third national title on May 11 after advancing through a semifinal win over Long Beach State. This marks their fifth finals appearance in seven years under head coach Charlie Wade.
