The University of Hawai’i softball team secured the Bank of Hawai’i Paradise Classic title with a 4-1 record after splitting their doubleheader on Saturday at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. The Rainbow Wahine defeated Pacific 3-1 in the first game, with starting pitcher Taryn Irimata earning her second complete game victory of the week. She allowed one run on four hits, walked one batter, and struck out seven.

In the win over Pacific, Hawai’i scored two runs in the second inning with two outs. Ellyanna Cinzori doubled down the rightfield line and later scored on an RBI single by Abby Sasaki. Cierra Yamamoto followed with a single, and UH executed a double-steal to score Sasaki from third base. Pacific responded in the third inning when Allie Capello hit a ground rule double to drive in Zaedi Tagalo, narrowing UH’s lead to 2-1.

Hawai’i added another run in the fourth inning as Cinzori singled and later scored on a Yamamoto single through the right side of the infield. Pacific’s starting pitcher Justice Alcaraz gave up three runs on seven hits across six innings.

In their final tournament game, Hawai’i fell to Seattle U 9-3. The Rainbow Wahine led early after Carys Murakami hit a double to left-center that drove in two runs for a 2-1 advantage. Seattle U responded with five runs in the third inning, including two solo home runs and two RBI doubles. They added more runs in subsequent innings to secure their win.

Briana Maio-Silva recorded her first collegiate home run for Hawai’i during this matchup. Three pitchers took turns for UH against Seattle U: Hannah Pitts started and took the loss after allowing five runs over just under three innings; Millie Fidge pitched briefly; freshman Maryn MacNeil finished out four innings while giving up three runs.

Seattle U’s Berkley Vance pitched a complete game for her team, allowing three runs on five hits.

Following this tournament, Hawai’i will begin its first road trip of 2026 by participating in back-to-back tournaments in Southern California: first at the CBU Classic hosted by Cal Baptist from February 14–16 in Riverside, then at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic from February 19–21 in Cathedral City.
