The University of Hawaii men’s basketball team will conclude its two-game road trip in California with a matchup against CSUN on Saturday, February 14. The game is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. PT (3:00 p.m. HT) at the Premier America Credit Union Arena in Northridge.

Hawaii enters the contest after an 89-74 win over CSU Bakersfield, which, combined with UC Irvine’s loss at Cal Poly, gives them sole possession of first place in the Big West Conference with a 10-3 record. CSUN did not play on Thursday but currently holds fourth place in the conference standings at 8-5.

This meeting marks the second time this season that Hawaii and CSUN will face each other. In their previous encounter in Honolulu, Hawaii defeated CSUN 89-68, handing the Matadors their largest Big West loss of the season. Since that defeat, CSUN has won four consecutive games, three by double-digit margins.

Hawaii’s victory at CSU Bakersfield was its third conference road win by at least 15 points and fifth overall such win in Big West play this season. During that game, Hawaii limited Bakersfield to just one made three-pointer out of twelve attempts—a season low for a Hawaii opponent both in makes and percentage—contributing to Hawaii leading NCAA Division I teams in three-point field goal percentage defense at 26.8%.

Dre Bullock led Hawaii with 19 points against CSU Bakersfield and continues his strong performance from the free throw line; he has made 27 of his last 28 attempts, including a current streak of 24 straight makes. The team as a whole has shot 78% from the free throw line over its last eight games.

CSUN has been strong at home this season with an 11-1 record; their only home loss came against Long Beach State on January 17. Josiah Davis leads both the Big West Conference and ranks sixth nationally with an average of 7.3 assists per game, while Larry Hughes II leads the conference and is among national leaders in three-pointers made per game.

Isaac Johnson of Hawaii has scored in double digits for eleven consecutive games since January.

Hawaii ranks among the top thirty NCAA teams across eight statistical categories: first in three-point field goal percentage defense, twelfth in defensive rebounds per game, twenty-first in scoring margin, twenty-second in rebound margin, twenty-third in free throw attempts, twenty-fourth in free throws made, twenty-fifth in field goal percentage defense, and twenty-ninth in scoring defense.

The game will be available via live stream on ESPN+ and radio coverage through ESPN Honolulu.
