The University of Hawaii men’s basketball team is set to conclude its two-game Big West homestand with a matchup against CSUN on Saturday, January 24. The game will take place at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, with tipoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. local time.
Hawaii enters the contest tied for first place in the Big West Conference with UC Irvine, holding a conference record of 6-2 and an overall record of 14-4. The team recently secured a decisive 98-71 victory over CSU Bakersfield, marking its eighth win by a margin of 20 points or more this season. CSUN, currently tied for fifth in the conference standings at 4-4 (11-9 overall), had a bye earlier in the week and is coming off an 87-80 loss to Long Beach State.
Saturday’s game will be broadcast on Spectrum Sports and streamed live on ESPN+ (subject to blackout restrictions in Hawaii). Radio coverage will be provided by ESPN Honolulu and its app, while live statistics are available through StatBroadcast.com.
Fans attending the game can participate in several promotions presented by Hawaiian Airlines. Upon entry at Gate A, attendees will receive calendars and roster cards. Special group rates and alumni ticket offers are also available online. In addition, several youth teams will participate in a halftime “Knockout” event, and one University of Hawaii student will have the opportunity to compete in the Four-Shot Challenge for a chance to win spring semester in-state tuition.
A special “4 Da ‘Ohana Ticket Pack” is being offered for $79, which includes four upper-level baseline seats and $50 in concession credit. This package must be purchased online at least two hours before the event.
Head coach Eran Ganot leads Hawaii with an overall record of 188-124 over his career and a mark of 185-122 during his tenure with the Rainbow Warriors.
Historically, Hawaii holds a 22-11 advantage over CSUN in their all-time series, including an 11-4 edge when playing at home. However, CSUN swept last season’s series against Hawaii and handed them their largest margin of defeat ever in a Big West home game during their previous meeting in Honolulu.
CSUN features Josiah Davis, who leads the Big West Conference and ranks among national leaders with an average of 6.5 assists per game. Teammate Larry Hughes II also leads the conference—and is nationally ranked—in three-point field goals made.
Hawaii has performed strongly at home this season with a record of 12-1 at Bankoh Arena and eight consecutive wins there. Senior Dre Bullock recently surpassed the milestone of 1,000 points scored during his Division I collegiate career after contributing 17 points against CSU Bakersfield; Hawaii remains undefeated this year when Bullock leads the team in scoring.
