The University of Hawai’i women’s track and field team competed in two events over the weekend, the Battle Born Classic in Reno, Nevada, and the Husky Classic in Seattle. The team recorded several top performances, including a new school record.
Isabella Kneeshaw broke her own program record in the 400 meters for the third consecutive meet, finishing with a time of 54.48 seconds. Kneeshaw also posted the second-fastest 200-meter time in school history at 24.10 seconds.
The throwers contributed notable results as well. Lilian Turban moved into the top five all-time at UH in shot put, while Rose Forshaw improved her mark to remain among the school’s top ten indoor performers with a toss of 14.02 meters.
In middle-distance running, Izzy Gorton achieved the second-fastest indoor 800-meter time in program history during competition at the Husky Classic.
Other athletes made their mark on UH’s all-time top ten lists: Robyn Larkan ran 7.54 seconds in the 60 meters for second place; Marissa Crane clocked 56.74 seconds for seventh place in the 400 meters; Tara Wyllie finished sixth all-time in the 60-meter hurdles with an 8.68-second run; and Lisa Martensson reached ninth place in high jump at 1.74 meters.
Relay and field events also saw progress, with Becker, Gorton, Greentree, and Martin placing ninth all-time at UH in the distance medley relay with a time of 11:48.63.
Several Rainbow Wahine athletes are currently ranked among the top three marks in their respective events within the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF). These include Isabella Kneeshaw (third in the 200 meters), Robyn Larkan (first in 60-meter hurdles), Lilian Turban (first in high jump and third in shot put), Ava Enriquez (second in pole vault), and Tara Wyllie (second in triple jump).
