The University of Hawai’i football team has learned its conference opponents for the 2026 season following the Mountain West’s announcement of home and away matchups for all 12 teams.
Hawai’i will play host to Air Force, New Mexico, San Jose State, and UNLV at the Clarence T.C. Ching Complex. The Rainbow Warriors will travel to face Nevada, Northern Illinois University (NIU), UTEP, and Wyoming. Specific dates and kickoff times for these games will be announced later.
The Mountain West Conference is expanding in 2026 with the addition of NIU and UTEP. Hawai’i has not previously played NIU in football. The Rainbow Warriors have a history with UTEP from their time together in the Western Athletic Conference, holding an 18-13 advantage in the series. Their last meeting was in 2004.
The full schedule for Hawai’i consists of six home games and six road games. Non-conference opponents already announced include home games against New Mexico State on September 12 and Massachusetts on November 28, as well as away games at Stanford on August 29 and Arizona State on September 19.
“Dates and kickoff times for these matchups will be released at a later date,” according to the release.
