The University of Hawai’i men’s basketball team is preparing for its upcoming game against Cal State Fullerton on Saturday, December 6. The matchup will take place at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m. local time.
Hawai’i enters the game with a record of 7-2 overall and 1-0 in Big West Conference play. The Rainbow Warriors recently secured a 75-69 victory over UC Davis in their conference opener on Thursday, maintaining a strong home record of 7-1 this season. Head coach Eran Ganot currently holds an overall record of 181-122 in his twelfth season and is 178-120 during his eleven seasons at Hawai’i.
In the all-time series between the two teams, Hawai’i leads Cal State Fullerton 18-10 and has won the last three meetings, including a season sweep last year. “UH looks to start Big West play 2-0 for the first time in three years when it hosts Cal St. Fullerton on Saturday.” The Rainbow Warriors were picked third in the preseason coaches poll, while Cal State Fullerton was ranked eleventh.
Cal State Fullerton comes into the contest with a record of 3-6 overall and 0-1 in conference play after losing to Cal Poly, 94-91, in their own conference opener. The Titans currently average a conference-leading 88.4 points per game and have scored more than 82 points in seven out of nine games this season.
On individual performance, senior center Isaac Johnson has made a school-record 38 consecutive free throws since November 9.
