Department of Water Supply Schedules Night Operations Upcountry for Water System Repairs

The Department of Water Supply reports two scheduled night projects for water system repairs in the Upcountry area.Traffic will be diverted into contraflow when one lane of Makawao Avenue is closed between Miner Place and Maha Road from 9 p.m. today, Nov. 15, 2022, until 4 a.m. tomorrow, Nov. 16, 2022, to repair a water service lateral. During repair project, water service will be interrupted on Makawao Avenue between Miner Place and Maha Road to include the Makawao Square Plaza.

The second scheduled night operation will occur from 9 p.m. Nov. 17, 2022, through 4 a.m. Nov. 18, 2022, to repair a 4-inch main waterline. The section of Old Haleakala Highway between Pukalani Street and Ulunui Place will have a lane closure (with traffic contra-flowed) while repairs are ongoing. Water service interruptions are expected for residents of Kilakila Place, Haaheo Place, Nanaina Street to Ikea Place, Iolani Street and Alohilani Street to Kamelani Loop.
